Digi-pak

This is my digi-pak design with my record label logo added (circled). This creates a more believable and realistic products as it provides an extra bit of information which makes it look more professional. 

Record label logo

This is a record label logo design I created to use on my product. I used my own artwork in creating this logo,the use of the eye and lightning bolt are  often used within this genre and also suggest an element of darkness which is conventional. I chose the name Fuzz Records as Fuzz reflects the genre of music that my song is associated with due to the highly distorted guitar tone. Definition 2 shown in the image reinforces     this and makes it a fitting name and also believable of a label that would have this band signed.
 

Existing posters within the genre

 These are some existing posters within the same genre. The first and the last both have the album cover of the album it is advertising as the main background. However, these are extended to fill the non square shape. in the bottom poster it is not stretched, it has extra imagery that is not featured on the front cover although follows the same style and layout. 
The layout of text on the first is very minimal. This could be due to the art being the focus which is common of the genre as expression is a key focus.
The second poster uses photography as the main focus. However the picture on the left one is similar to the one on the front cover but not in negative. This therefore creates some continuity between the poster and the cover although it is a different photograph.

All three of the poster incorporate the name of the album and the name of the band, they also use the bands recognizable logos and font styles. This creates continuity between the bands products making them effective.

MOTE

I decided to name the band Mote, this is a song by Sonic Youth and therefore conforms to genre conventions due to them being within the same genre with the same audience and fan base.

The meaning of the word itself could also reflect the genre as in terms of popular music, it is just a small speck within music due to its unconventional nature and anti-establishment ideologies.
